30 Day Blog Challenge: Place I Want to Live

There’s nothing more beautiful than Sydney’s Harbour on a sunny day and I’m always envious of those who are fortunate enough to wake up to that view every morning. I would probably never have the opportunity to own or live in one of these apartments (I don’t see myself become a multi millionaire anytime soon) however, Sydney’s foreshore has always been a place where I want to live.

You would always have prime position for amazing NYE parties....

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite Lipstick

I have only recently jumped on the lipstick bandwagon, I think its because I had never felt the need to experiment with my lip colour and I was happy with a sheer lip gloss or balm - oh how that has changed.

I purchased the Clinque Butter Shine Lipstick in Baby Baby based on colour alone (as I wanted a neutral nude) but it wasn’t until I first applied it that I fell in love.

Think a soft buttery lip gloss in lipstick form, which easily glides over lips and provides a glossy non sticky finish.

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite Mascara

This has been one of my long time favourite mascaras and while there are others that come and go, Clinque’s High Impact Mascara is one that I always go back to.

Defines and lengthens lashes while separating without being clumpy or flaky, it’s build-able and I usually apply two coats for a volumizing effect.

Urban Decay Vegan Palette

Celebrating PETA’s 30th Anniversary and cruelty free beauty, Urban Decay released this gorgeous limited edition Vegan Palette.

This palette contains six of UD best selling eye shadows as well as a sample bottle of the famous Sin Primer Potion and a 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero.

Colours include: Minx, Urb, Gunmetal, Twice Baked, Smog and Half Baked.

In true Urban Decay fashion these eye shadows are beautifully pigmented and when teamed with the Primer Potion become even more vibrant.

Do some of these colours look or sound familiar?? That’s because this palette contains Gunmetal, Smog and Half Baked from the much sought after Naked Palette.

Purchased for $34.95 from Beauty Bay, I would recommend this palette for those (like me) who don’t own a Naked Palette however; if you have been lusting for one don’t give up as for an additional $10 or less you receive an additional six neutral shades.

As I have been recently experimenting with colours, I particularly love Minx as a liner for a pop of colour to my always neutral eyes.

MAC Lustre Drops

I have been recently tweeting asking around for a good illuminator to mix in with my foundation to give my dull skin a “pick me up” and had wanted to try Revlon Skin Lights but it has been discontinued (story of my life).

Passing by my local MAC counter last week, the helpful assistant introduced me to their Lustre Drops.

The one I purchased, Pink Rebel is a gorgeous sheer pink with a slight gold shimmer that is added to your foundation to give your complexion an illuminating glow – just what I needed.

MAC describes its Lustre Drops as a bronzer that applies like liquid sun. Water-based, beautifully smooth to apply with added pearlized lustre.

The bottle contains 18ML (0.60 US FL OZ) and was AUD$40 however, a little goes a long way and I have a feeling this little bottle of sunshine will last me quite a while.

OPI Russian Navy

I recently purchased this polish from online store Beauty Bay as it was showcased as “Colour of the Month” (or something similar).

I own vary few dark nail polishes and I really love the dark look for the winter months.

This colour is a beautiful royal navy with a hint of purple that catches in the sunlight and because its an OPI polish it’s a pleasure to apply with its Pro Wide brush.

I can usually get a good four day wear out of OPI polishes and sometimes longer when a good top coat is applied – I use OPI Top Coat but I have also heard good things about Sally Hansen Mega Shine.

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite look from a Beauty Guru

As listed within my previous post My Favourite Beauty Guru, I’m loving Fleur from FleurDeForce who is a beauty YouTuber and Blogger from the UK.

In between showcasing her favourite beauty products, Fleur creates beautiful everyday make-up and hair tutorials.

My favourite look from Fleur is a little edgier than her usual tutorials and would look amazing for a night out or special occasion.

Inspired by UK singer Pixi Lott, Fleur teams the classic smokey eye with hot pink bold lips which gives an edgy "pop rock" effect.

This was a difficult choice as there is so many amazing Beauty Guru’s in the beauty blogging and vlogging community.

I have chosen Fleur from Fleur De Force as my favourite Beauty Guru as I find her blogs and YouTube videos are always on my first to watch or read list.

The georgous Fleur from FleurDeForce

Give me everything – Pitbull ft Ne-Yo
The Lazy Song – Bruno Mars
Who’s that chick? – David Guetta ft Rhianna

And some of my current favourite artists are:

Ne-Yo
Black Eyed Peas
Christina Aguilera from the albums Stripped and Back to Basics
Usher
Fall Out Boy
Lady Gaga

30 Day Blog Challenge: Photo of my Favourite Bracelet

When I think of my favourite bracelet…two come to mind; my pearl charm bracelet by Thomas Sabo and my Pandora bracelet.

I love these two, as they are both charm style bracelets and each of the charms or beads where given to me as a gift or purchased for a memory or occasion.

On my Thomas Sabo I have a white zirconia as my birthstone for April and a little aeroplane representing my love of travel. On my Pandora, I have a series of mismatched silver and munro glass beads and my most recent addition a little birthday present bead, given to me on my last birthday.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Photo of a Hairstyle/Haircut I’d like to have

I have very fine hair and although its mid length and I’m slowly growing it, I would love to have long voluminous hair with Victoria Secret style curls.

Me as Miranda Kerr

Thanks to the App, iSwapfaces, I was able to steal the gorgeous Miranda Kerr’s luscious locks. Sorry about the photo, I always struggle to get “face on celebrities bodies” photos to look natural.

What’s you fave hairstyle or haircut?

30 Day Blog Challenge: Photo of my Fashion/Style Icon

My current fave fashion or style icon would have to be the dashing miss Kim Kardashian. Kim always looks so beautifully put together, I guess when your part owner of three fashion boutiques you learn a thing or two about what goes with what.

I particularly love Kim’s casual style, I think because it’s so accessible and well so…me! Some of my current casual outfits consist of skinny jeans or leggings, a long fitted or flowy top accessorised with a big gathered scarf – á la Kim K.

Love her style.. Kim K

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite Colour

I’m really loving the colours turquoise, pale greens or greeny blues at the moment. There’s something very relaxing and warming about this colour, it may be that it reminds me of a tropical beach.. just what I need as the weather is starting to get colder and colder.

I put together this set from Polyvore.com of some pieces in this beautiful colour.
Turquoise Inspiration

To keep with the greeny blue theme, I have also been following the current beauty blog hype over the new Essie Summer collection Brazilliant and have been lusting for two particular colours in the collection; Absolutely Shore and Smooth Sailing. I have never tried an Essie nail polish but I have been hearing great things and these two particular colours are very pretty.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Bag I Want to Have

I have always admired Chanel Handbags; apart from being a fashion icon they have a classic “go with everything” look and add instant luxe to any outfit.

Retailing for $2500 or higher depending on the bag, this is one piece of fashion history that I unfortunately won’t own in my lifetime (unless I win the lottery).

The always fashionable, Lauren Conrad, is also a huge fan of Chanel bags and always looks perfectly polished finishing off her look with a piece of Chanel arm candy.

P.s how gorgeous does she look with a dark bob?

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite Pair of Shoes

I was hoping the shoe booties from my ASOS.com order would arrive before this post was due….unfortunately they didn’t… but being a shoe lover, I have a backup favourite to share with you all.
Shimmer by Lipstick, colour Taupe

I got this pair for Christmas 2010; they’ve dressed up many summer outfits and are now joining me in the winter to team up with leggings and tights.

Being a wedge, they are very comfortable to walk in as your not balancing your weight on a stiletto heel and I love the taupe colour.

I currently also loving my UGG boots, purfect to wear lounging around the house, my nude patent leather pumps which I love but they hurt so much and ballet flats - my essential shopping shoes.

Nude by Nature

Listed as one of my favourite things, I have been using Nude by Nature Mineral Foundation as my everyday foundation for a few years now.

Nude by Nature foundation is a loose powder that contains natural minerals such as iron oxide, mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide, that gives a natural coverage without any hidden nasties such as fragrances, dyes, preservatives, chemicals, fillers, or synthetic binders that can be found in other make up brands.

When I first came across Nude by Nature I was a little sceptical that a loose powder could give the flawless coverage that it was advertising, but I was pleasantly surprised at the result and I loved that it was so quick and easy to apply.

The Nude by Nature foundation range has three products; the Natural Mineral Foundation available in light, medium and dark (I purchase light as you can always darken it up with a bronzer), Mineral Bronzer and Mineral Finishing Veil.

Personally, I just use the foundation with my own bronzer from a different brand. I have tried the finishing veil which Nude by Nature claims that it diffuses the appearance of wrinkles and adds that luminous, poreless, flawless complexion similar to airbrushing – however I feel the finishing veil is a luxury not an necessity.

Unfortunately, the Nude foundation is not a wonder product and you will need to conceal any dark circles, pimples, redness or any other problem areas before you apply. To apply, simply tap the mineral powder into the lid and use a powder or kabuki brush and swirl in the powder and tap off the excess. Gently buff onto face in circular motions until you receive your desired coverage. Finish with a light bronzer to frame the face or highlight features.

Before - No Make-up

After - Wearing Mineral foundation and FOA Bronzer

Nude by Nature Mineral foundation is available from Myer, David Jones and Priceline and retails for $39.95.

Note: I have since purchased Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua foundation which is my new fav however I still love and use my Nude by Nature everyday during the working week.

30 Day Blog Challenge: A Photo that makes me Laugh

This photo is from one of those “You had to be there moments” but I’ll try by best to briefly tell the story behind the photo.

My friends and I were at a Mauritian Fundraising Ball to support my boyfriend who was playing in the band. During the Ball, a raffle would be drawn and one of the prizes was a storage box full of “Mauritian Delights” (An assortment of mixed sweets and goodies from Mauritius) my friends and I were thinking “Wouldn’t it be funny if we won the Mauritian Delights?!” After a few wines, enjoying the music and being silly the raffle was drawn and when the Mauritian Delights prize was called my friend was excitedly yelling I won, I won! Thinking she was joking, we were all surprised when she got up and went down to collect the prize – I always laugh to myself when I see this photo of my friend with a box full of Mauritian Delights J

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean - On Strangers Tides

Last week I purchased this cute pack of OPI minis from David Jones for $24.95, which includes four nail polishes from the new Pirates of the Caribbean - On Strangers Tides collection.

I would describe these colours as dusty pastel which complement each other nicely. The little mini bottles are so cute and convenient for those (like me) who have a vast nail polish collection and  although these minis don't have the ProWide brush (like the regular size) they are still easy to apply but require two coats.

My two favs from this set are Stranger Tides, the light moss green colour and Skull & Glossbones the glossy grey as they are unique to my nail polish collection. Sparrow Me the Drama (pink) and Planks a Lot (purple) as also nice colours but are very dupe-able as I own many purples and pinks.

Also in the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection (but unfortunately not included in this set) is a Silver Shatter coat which aims to add a "ARG-uably" quirky twist to the standard manicure.

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite Animal

I’m definitely an animal lover, I love all creatures great and small but I must say my favourite animal is mans best friend…. That’s right, I’m a dog lover!

I’ve always been a big dog lover, my first dog Ollie (RIP) a Labrador and my old next door neighbour had two Rottweilers, Sasha and Rosco who I have very fond memories with of playing with them as a child, and it turned out my boyfriends family also have a Rottweiler, Tyson who is a total cutie.  However, since my sister got her little Jack Russell cross Chihuahua named Jack, who is a total character I may have swayed towards little dogs.

My boyfriend and I really want a dog when we move but I’m not sure what breed… I have been thinking along the lines of a Dashound (sausage dog) but I’m open to suggestions as moving out may be a while away...

30 Day Blog Challenge: Anything Hello Kitty

This little cat always amazes me, she is a little marketing power house... you name it, Hello Kitty is on it... I even found Hello Kitty beer??

I’m not a huge fan of Hello Kitty… but keeping with the rules of my 30 day blog challenge, here it is.. for those of us who are young at heart xx

30 Day Blog Challenge: My Favourite thing to do

So I’m a little delayed in posting my day 5 as Blogger had some technical difficulties over the past few days, but here it is……

Apart from my all time favourite things to do like shopping and my new found love of blogging my ultimate favourite thing to do is going on holidays.

I love the planning, the excitement of being in new surrounds, good food and cocktails, the shopping and how you always feel relaxed and carefree.

For my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a booked holiday to Queensland’s Hamilton Island (featured on Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure), I cannot wait to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef and visit the white sands of Whitehaven Beach – August cannot come any sooner!!

Some of my ultimate wish list holiday destinations are Europe, USA and an Australian road trip which I’ll hopefully get around too one day (money permitting).

I have posted below some snaps of my recent holidays destinations…enjoy, and remember… no leave, no life :)

Aloha, from Waikiki Beach Hawaii
Phi Phi Islands, Thailand

Le Meridian Resort, Vanuatu
Sunset, Denaru Island Fiji
